The IG-500A is a miniature Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). It uses a set of three MEMS based gyroscopes, accelerometers, and magnetometers, to provide a drift-free and precise attitude, even in severe dynamic conditions.
This lightweight, robust and reliable device delivers consistent performance over a wide temperature range thanks to an advanced calibration procedure and a configurable Extended Kalman filter (EKF).

Applications:
Autonomous vehicles
Undersea vehicles such as boys or ROV need a precise attitude for stabilization and navigation purposes. The IG-500A provides very accurate roll, pitch and heading measurements in challenging environments encountered in marine industry thanks to an advanced sensors calibration procedure and a powerful onboard processing.

 |
Gyro stabilized systems
Gyro-stabilized cameras are widely used for aerial survey. IG-500A and IG-500N devices are used to determine both the vehicle and camera attitude at high update rates, up to 166 Hz. Using this information, the camera is able to automatically track and follow a target even if the vehicle is rapidly moving.

Deformation analysis
By placing multiple IG-500A devices on a part, it's possible to analyze deformations and monitor, in real time, material stress. Each IG-500A returns a precise 3d orientation as well as calibrated rate of turns and accelerations. These data are then directly inputted into a material stress solver.

Augmented reality / Animation
Virtual Reality is a growing market and especially for training simulation. Using inertial system for motion capture is very straightforward and provides consistent results in any environments where other solutions fail. IG-500A devices are used to measure weapons attitude, head movements and even as innovative input solutions.
