Car motion analysis
Our products are used to analyze motion and dynamics of a vehicle. For example, a car pilot can improve his trajectory on a race track by analyzing his race. A car manufacturer can also study car drift or collisions to enhance his car chassis design. With the IG-500N device, you will get a complete car motion analysis system. Using its inertial sensors and powerful processing, the IG-500N can be used to measure the orientation of a car chassis during high dynamic maneuvers. The embedded GPS and barometric altimeter give you also an accurate position information used to correlate chassis attitude and car trajectory. Magnetic north has always been the main information for boat navigation. While it’s quite simple to have an idea of the north direction with a standard compass, it’s much harder to get an accurate heading information in each orientation. Ferromagnetic parts can easily distort the earth magnetic field inducing large errors in north direction and for good heading measurement, a standard compass should be used horizontally. In a boat, these two conditions are rarely satisfied due to large ferromagnetic parts and high dynamics in bad weather conditions. On the other hand, a GPS receiver can only calculate the boat trajectory but in no case the real boat heading. Think of a plane with crosswind to understand the phenomenon. To address these issues, SBG Systems offers the IG-30G. This product features an accurate 3d compass (including ferromagnetic distortions compensation) and a GPS receiver in the same small package. A lot of industrial applications need an accurate horizontal reference. For example, a Theodolite measures both horizontal and vertical angles. This kind of system is commonly used in surveying and engineering work. Heavy material leveling also requires precise horizontal reference. To address this kind of applications, SBG Systems has developed the IG-20. This small device includes a precise 3d accelerometer used to calculate, with the earth gravity vector, an inclination better than 0.2° in both roll and pitch angles.
